Arthur Dunn 1/4 Final v Old Etonians FC – Feb 14th
The KCS Old Boys 1st XI will play Old Etonians FC this Saturday in the quarter final of the Arthur Dunn Cup. In a repeat of the 2010 final, the OB’s will be looking to progress into the semi-finals for only the second time in their realtively short history.
When the two teams met earlier in the season, OK’s ran out 6-2 winners, however the score certainly does not to justice to game and Saturday is expected to be a tightly contested affair. Old Carthusians, Lancing Old Boys and Old Reptonians await the winners in the pot for the semi-final draw.
The Arthur Dunn Cup was inaugurated in 1903 to be contested by clubs made up of former pupils of public schools and colleges. Still running today, it is the second oldest cup competition in the country behind the FA Cup. Teams are made up entirely of school leavers, and OKs are represented by over 15 years worth of leavers.
Unfortunately, in a break with cup tradition, the game will not be played at the school grounds but rather at the Old Boy’s adopted home in Teddington (St Mary’s University, Lock Sports Fields, Broom Road). Kick Off is 12pm and there will be a tea served in the White Hart pub afterwards for both teams and all spectators.
