The King has been graciously pleased to give orders of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire to Lohan Jekhan Aruliah for Social and Entrepreneurship Coach for services to Development in Sri Lanka.

LONDON GAZETTE

We would like to thank those who attended this years’ reunion celebrating milestone anniversaries year as those (1955, 1965, 1975, 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015).

Dr. Anne Cotton, Head of King’s College School, and Alexander Malmaeus, Chairman of the Old King’s Club welcomed attendees for refreshments and live music. Dr. Lucy Inglis, School Archivist, was there to lead tours.

It was a fantastic opportunity for OKC’s to reconnect with former classmates and teachers and to see the school as it is developing today.

King’s will become a fully co-educational school over the next decade. Girls and boys will be admitted into the Reception year at Wimbledon Common Prep School (Squirrels) in September 2027. Girls and boys will be admitted to year 3 (Transition) in the junior school at 7+ from September 2029, and at 8+ and 9+ in subsequent years, transferring to the senior school without a further examination as they do now. Girls and boys will be admitted to year 7 of the senior school at 11+ from September 2033, and to year 9 (fourth form) of the senior school at 13+ in September 2035. Girls and boys will continue to be admitted to the lower sixth (year 12) at 16+, as they are now.

Past president of the Old King’s Club, Cavan served twice as chair of the school’s governing body, has passed away aged 90.

Born in 1935, Cavan was a pupil at King’s from 1943 to 1953. He was active in all areas of school life: Company Quartermaster Sergeant in the CCF, a House Prefect, and member of the 1st Rugby and Hockey teams. On leaving school, he was awarded a major scholarship by Surrey County Council to read Law at Emanuel College, Cambridge. A successful career followed and, from 1991 to 1996 he was senior partner in the law firm Lovell White Durrant (now Hogan Lovells).
