KCS OB's FC v Old Carthusians – 1pm – Sat 13th
This Saturday sees the Arthurian League get underway with a mouth-watering tie to kick off proceedings. The newly promoted KCS Old Boys 1st XI will host Old Carthusians, last season’s Premier League Champions and established Arthurian powerhouse.
Both teams went undefeated in their respective leagues last season and will put these impressive records on the line at Kings’ new home ground in Teddington (St Mary’s University Sports Grounds). Charterhouse hold an impressive record over Kings in previous years, with the boys from Wimbledon yet to claim a victory over the former FA Cup winners, however there have been some exciting draws and closely fought encounters in recent seasons.
KCS have gone unbeaten throughout pre-season, with excellent victories in the last week against Old Tiffinians (9-1) and Old Malvernians (5-0), to accompany two 1-1 draws against Old Bradfieldians and Montpelier Villa FC. With some new faces joining last season’s established squad, as well as some new stash, there is a real sense of optimism around the camp.
It promises to be a cracking game of football and all Old Boys are welcome to come down and watch/support/heckle as appropriate. There shall be a tea afterwards in a local establishment, to discuss the many highs and lows of the previous 90 minutes.
